CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University has named Suzanne Grubesic as its new director of marketing and communications.
Grubesic, a native of Campbellsville, will assume her new position Monday, Jan. 29.
Grubesic brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing and communication leadership in multiple industries.
She most recently served as grant writer for Taylor County Public Schools in Campbellsville. In less than five years, Grubesic helped design various programs winning more than nine million in funds to advance public education in Taylor County.
“Energy is building at Campbellsville University, and I am blessed to be stepping in as the Director of Marketing and Communications when, I believe, we are on the cusp of a tipping point of potential,” Grubesic said.
“Over the next five years, our team will facilitate fortification of our valued foundations while empowering departments and learning centers to adapt, innovate and thrive. I look forward to collaborating with the distinguished staff at CU as we build an incredible future for the university.”
As CU’s director of marketing and communications, Grubesic will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy that aligns with CU’s goals and objectives. Grubesic’s additional responsibilities include working with key stakeholders to develop and implement enrollment-specific marketing strategies and plans.
She will work to ensure that Campbellsville University’s brand is effectively communicated to prospective students across a variety of channels and oversee CU’s public relations efforts.
“Throughout the search, Suzanne demonstrated herself as the strongest candidate in terms of writing, presentation, experience and commitment to CU’s Christian mission,” Dr. Jason Meriwether, vice president for Enrollment Management at Campbellsville University, said.
“Her talent and wisdom will elevate a strong team to propel CU into the stratosphere of brand recognition, internal and external messaging, and market saturation. We eagerly welcome Suzanne to the team!”
Grubesic graduated from the University of Kentucky with an undergraduate degree in Integrated Strategic Communications with an emphasis in public relations. While coordinating in-house marketing strategy for a national software firm based in Lexington, Ky., Grubesic returned to her hometown on nights and weekends to obtain her Master of Business Administration from Campbellsville University.
Afterwards, Grubesic spent the next decade leading communication and branding strategy for Fortune 500 companies like Ganz, Vidal Sassoon, and Lexmark International, as well as many private enterprises in the cause marketing sector.
Grubesic has also worked as marketing and brand storyteller for Brown Jordan International, a furniture company.
Grubesic served as executive director for the Campbellsville/Taylor County Chamber of Commerce before joining Taylor County Public Schools.

In addition, Grubesic serves as president of the Taylor County Public Library board and as an ambassador and past vice-president for Green River Ministries Homeless Shelter.
“Suzanne’s creative efforts have already made a significant impact on Taylor County, and we are thrilled to bring her leadership to the broad community of Campbellsville University,” Dr. Joseph Hopkins, president of Campbellsville University, said.
“This new position brings together existing strengths of team members across CU, and we are eager to see what happens with a greater investment in public relations, promotion and marketing.”
