(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) - Northeastern State University has selected Dr. Mike Chanslor as the dean of the College of Liberal Arts. Chanslor’s appointment is the result of a national search and on-campus interviews with six candidates.
“Please join me in congratulating Dr. Mike Chanslor, who has accepted the dean position for the College of Liberal Arts, and in thanking him for his continuing service to the university,” NSU Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Debbie Landry said. “Dr. Chanslor has provided excellence in each role he has served in during his 18 years at NSU, and I look forward to serving with him in his new role.”
Prior to taking the role of dean, Chanslor served as the director of the American Studies Master of Arts program and the interim chair of the Department of Languages and Literature.
Chanslor has served in a variety of roles in his time at NSU. He has taught undergraduate and graduate classes in mass communication and media studies, and he has served as assistant, associate, and interim dean of the College of Liberal Arts and as chair of the Department of Communication, Art & Theatre.
In addition to his roles at NSU, Chanslor has published 16 research projects, written and presented over 20 papers and participated in many professional presentations and panels. He has also been involved in numerous other activities and has been a member on numerous committees.
